Question 4

What is the Cyber Trust Mark and who needs it in Singapore?

Accepted Answer

The Cyber Trust Mark (CTM) is Singapore's premier cybersecurity certification by CSA. It demonstrates robust cyber governance across five domains. It's particularly valuable for organisations handling sensitive data, government contractors, financial institutions, and technology companies seeking to demonstrate cybersecurity maturity to partners and customers.

Question 5

What is the difference between PDPA compliance and DPTM certification?

Accepted Answer

PDPA is the legal baseline — all Singapore organisations must comply. The Data Protection Trustmark (DPTM) is a voluntary certification that demonstrates a comprehensive Data Protection Management Programme (DPMP) aligned with SS 714:2025. DPTM signals trusted data stewardship to customers, regulators, and partners — going significantly beyond minimum legal requirements.

Question 6

Which ISO standards are most important for Singapore SMEs?

Accepted Answer

ISO 9001 (quality) is the most widely adopted and often required for government tenders and supply chains. ISO 45001 (safety) is essential for construction and manufacturing. ISO 27001 (information security) is critical for IT, financial services, and data-handling businesses. ISO 14001 (environment) supports ESG reporting and Green Plan 2030 alignment. ICPL can advise on the most commercially impactful standard for your industry and growth strategy.
